7 Products to Elevate Your Hair Game

Let’s talk about hair! Are you taking care of yours? I love my hair, but I have to admit, I could take better care of it. This past year, its really gotten a beating as I haven’t had time to get my hair cut on my normal schedule. And with all my blow drying, my ends definitely get dry and break off.

If you’re not crazy about how your hair’s been looking lately or you want some new tips on caring for your hair, try these 7 products to elevate your hair game.

My hair stylist, 13 year veteran of all things hair – Evalyn Lopez of Trim in Venice, Ca, shared her favorite products with me while she was cutting my hair the other day.

Sometimes I feel like stylists push the products that are sold in their salon vs what they truly love using. I was appreciative that Evalyn could share all her favorite items without the desire to sell them.

With so many products and advertising out there, how do we know what’s the best? A lot of it is trial and error based on the type of hair we have. But I was interested in knowing the “across the board” products that seem to work for all hair types. Working 40+ hours a week on different hair styles/types, Evalyn knows!

Here are her favorites:

OLAPEX No 6 Bond Smoother

Just a 1/2 dime size of this leave-in reparative styling cream before you style will protect your hair from the heat of the blowdryer and curling/flat iron. This creme is also great at eliminating frizz and hydrating your locks throughout the day.

Kevin Murphy Session Spray Flex StylerTo all best-sellers

This spray provides intense hold and memory plus excellent humidity resistance without feeling stiff or heavy. It also brushes out easily and effectively without a trace of flakiness.

Kevin Murphy Motion.lotion Curl Enhancing Lotion

For curly hair only, use this product after applying Olaplex 6. This lotion will enhance curls and also get frizz under control with this weightless, highly-absorbent treatment that is super-charged with beneficial ingredients to deliver flexible hold and natural-looking shine.

Dyson Hair Dryer

Ok. Who spends $399 on a hair dryer? Certainly not me, I said! Until Evalyn raved about it, explaining that it cuts her dry time in half and it prevents extreme heat damage on the hair through its unique heat technology. The product includes:

  • Dyson Supersonic hairdryer
  • Styling concentrator
  • Smoothing nozzle
  • Diffuser

Hmmm. I am still chewing on this one. It takes me a LONG time to blow dry my hair, so I could definitely use the time cut in half and less heat damage to my hair… but not sold yet. I will let you know if and when I decide to invest in this.

Hot Tools 1.5 inch Curling Iron

Evalyn loves how easily this curling iron handles. This size iron makes beautiful beach waves! I have one and use it to finish my hair with more polished looking curls when I wear my hair curly, and to get soft waves after straightening my hair.

Olivia Garden Ceramic & Ion Brush

If you straighten your hair often while blow drying, you know how important it is to have a good brush! Evalyn loves this large rounded brush to blow dry her clients’ hair.

Zotos AgeBeautiful Hair Color

I use this product every 8 weeks when my grays grow out. I love it! It’s so easy to color my grays since I found this product, and I love how it is permanent color. Visit my post, Wanna Cover Your Grays? for more info on this great product.

Will you order and try any of these products? I am using all (except the blow dryer for now). Try it and let me know how it goes!
